Healthy Homemade Christmas Cupcakes for Your Dog

09/12/2021

Christmas is the time for giving and being with friends and family, which for many of us includes our beloved dogs. This Christmas treat them to their own special cupcakes, handmade with love.
Created by Ness Bird, Arden Grange nutritional advisor and registered vet nurse, this yummy recipe is bound to get tails wagging. These treats are delicious and they are wheat gluten-free!

Ingredients

300g of liver, trimmed and diced
75g gluten-free self-raising flour
One large egg
1 tablespoon of olive oil
One small garlic clove
Grated carrot or apple are a great addition for the top

Method

  1. Put the liver, egg, olive oil and garlic in a blender and turn on. When the mixture is
reasonably smooth, tip it out into a mixing bowl and add the flour until the mixture is of flap-
    jack type consistency.
  2. Spoon your mixture into a cupcake tin, lined with paper cases.
  3. Cook in a preheated oven at about 180 degrees C for 20 – 30 minutes
  4. Leave to cool – out of reach of your doggy friends because they will raid it!
  5. If desired, ice with a dollop of Arden Grange Tasty Liver Treat (RRP £2.66) and decorate with
either grated apple or carrot, or treats such as Arden Grange Crunchy Bites (RRP £2.76)
