Pooches – get yourself to the groomers – there’s a new Instagram photo op in town! From Wednesday 22nd September, one of the City of London’s oldest marketplaces, Leadenhall Market, will be opening Dogstagram: the UK’s first ever pop-up photo station for dogs only!

In response to the number of Londoners and visitors who are now dog owners – many of which were acquired during lockdown – Leadenhall Market is celebrating its dog-friendly policy with the launch of the doggie-centric photo station. As an open air, covered Victorian market, the cobbled passageways are ideal for shoppers and diners wishing to bring their canine companion – who are welcome in all of the Market’s outdoor spaces, and many of its stores and restaurants.*

Situated in 13-15 Leadenhall Market, there will be four photo stations for pups to choose from, each with a unique backdrop and all the props to bring the final snap to life. Themes include Jurassic Bark, Flower Pooch Patch, the Toy Box and Puparazzi Ready, so there’s something to suit canines of all shapes and sizes!

To mark the launch of the wag-tastic new hangout, doggie influencers @thepuggysmalls, @pop_sausage and @itspomegranate, who form the Instadoggo crew, headed to the City for an early photo shoot.

The Leadenhall Dogstagram photo station will be open every Wednesday, Thursday and Saturday from 12-8pm from Wednesday 22nd September – Saturday 9th October – free to use, just turn up.

Pups and owners can also browse the dog-friendly boutique restaurants and shops that the beautiful Victorian market has to offer*, where they’ll find Woof & Brew Bottom Sniffer doggie ‘beer’ at the market’s oldest pub, The Lamb, Frozzy’s lickable frozen yoghurt at cheese experts Cheese Leadenhall and some delicious dog biscuits in British clothing brand Barbour. If posing for photos proves thirsty work, water bowls will be available throughout the market.

Owners are also invited to enter their dog’s photos into a competition, to be in with a chance of winning a smart Barbour dog jacket, collar and lead, along with some luxury doggie treats. All they have to do is upload their photo station pic to insta, making sure to tag #Leadenhalldogstagram. The winner will be chosen by none other than famous food, travel and lifestyle photographer, David Loftus @davidloftus when the pop-up has closed. David is also Dad to @DigbyLoftus – pictured visiting Leadenhall Market’s famous Lamb Tavern.

Leadenhall Market is celebrating its 700th anniversary this year, with a series of pop-ups and events. Visit www.leadenhallmarket.co.uk for more information.

Leadenhall Market is owned and managed by The City of London Corporation.
